Friederich Kleinhapl, cello
Since completing his training - finally studying under Philippe Muller in Paris, and perfecting his art in master classes with Paul Tortelier and others - Friederich Kleinhapl's career as a chamber musician and soloist has taken him to many of the main centres of music in Europe and also to America. Paul Tortelier, Yehudi Menuhin, Claudio Abbado, Tibor Varga and many others in the world of music have commented on the cellist's outstanding musical gifts. Whether in the concert hall or in recordings for radio and television, Friederich Kleinhapl makes a lasting impression through his passionate and highly expressive style, and he has attracted praise from the critics for his warmth and fullness of sound, his richness of tone and his captivating interpretations. In his first album, Friederich Kleinhapl plays a selection of fine works of music offering an exciting insight into his art.
Jeanne Mikitka, piano
Born in Russia, the pianist enjoyed early success at a number of competitions including the Chamber Music Competition of the Ukraine, the International Lyssenko Competition, and more recently the Bach Competition in Leipzig. Following the completion of her studies in Austria under Professor Alexander Satz, numerous recordings for radio and television, and her considerable experience in solo and chamber music concerts throughout Europe, the talented pianist has developed into a highly sensitive and equally expressive and spontaneously creative musician. In this album Jeanne Mikitka gives an impressive demonstration of her virtuosity as a soloist and also of her ability to enter into a harmonious alliance with the resonance of the cello.
